Beautiful Home Garden Design and Custom Carpentry

The clients had recently purchased the vacant lot next their new home and felt the need to blend the two together. From a design standpoint, the strong architectural qualities of the home needed to work cohesively with the landscape design in order to successfully blend everything together.

Since the homeowners really wanted to have a traditional vegetable and flower garden design, a functional garden shed served as the perfect structural component to tie the existing home to the new lot. The home's existing architecture was taken into careful consideration to compliment the design of the new garden shed.

A second structural element was also introduced to the front of the property. A stone entry monument was built using the same natural stone that was used on the house. The monument, along with the shed, allowed us to pull the unique qualities from the home and blend the two spaces together nicely.

A paving stone mimicking time worn cobblestones was utilized for a main sitting patio, the garden shed entry, and a footpath curving through one of the gardens The property was bordered with groups of large shrubs like Paniculata, Hydrangea, Clethra, Hazelnut and Ninebark to provide mass and substance.

With the shed anchoring a vegetable garden in back, a cut flower garden in front, and the border plantings providing privacy, colorful blooms, fragrance, and fall color, the once empty lot and its new garden design now fit in nicely with the home.
